Answers to Frequently Asked Questions

There is no such thing as a typical psychology session. I have been trained and have thousands of practical hours in listening and providing a safe environment in which we will explore your issues and challenges. You are absolutely free to discuss anything you wish, including everyday events, dilemmas, feelings, thoughts, emotions, relationships, etc. I provide a highly effective, evidence-based psychology treatment and from the first minutes it will be easy to talk once we start our very first session.

Most psychological consultation sessions last for approximately 1 hour. However, some clients prefer shorter or longer session times. I will tailor your session length to suit you best. For the first appointment, please plan at least 90 minutes as I have to get to know you and ask more questions compared to the following sessions.

Each client's situation is unique. Depending on what you're being treated for, how serious your situation is, how long you've had your symptoms - all that affects how many consultations will be needed. Even if you think your situation is extremely bad, it happens that psychological counseling can just be short-term and structured to provide practical exercises to help you understand your thoughts and actions. Thus, only a couple of sessions will be needed. Or therapy can be longer, in order to help you explore your life circumstances and change some deep-routed patterns of behaviour.

It would be a great bonus for you if you prepare for the first consultation as knowing your aim and purpose will help me create a helpful plan for how our future sessions will go. I would suggest to make a list of your symptoms, including bothersome thoughts, emotions, behaviors, past experiences, current situations and stressors. No need to articulate a detailed list of your concerns and goals. Think and write down the main reason you decided to contact psychologist. Depending on your stuation I will let you know before further consultations if any simple homework will be required to do from you.

You can talk about absolutely anything that's troubling you — anxiety, depression, relationship problems, burnout, trauma, stress, self-confidence problems, sexual difficulties, addictions, feeling lost, etc... My approach is holistic, meaning we can explore both surface challenges and deeper emotional patterns. Every conversation is strictly confidential and guided by your individual comfort level.

Absolutely! Some studies confirm that online therapy can be even more effective than face-to-face sessions, especially when it comes to emotional support and psychological guidance. With over a decade of experience, I've helped hundreds of clients achieve real progress via secure online sessions. The key is a strong therapeutic connection — and that’s exactly what I strive to build.

The first consultation session is about understanding your situation, needs, and goals. I’ll ask a few gentle, open-ended questions to get a sense of what brings you to therapy and how I can help. It’s a calm, welcoming space — there's no pressure, and you can share at your own pace. Just make sure to plan about 90 minutes of your time for the first consultation session.

Therapy is personal, and feeling comfortable is absolutely essential. During the first consultation session you can ask questions and get a feel for my approach. After 12 years in this profession, I’ve learned the importance of listening deeply and adapting to each person's needs.

Yes, of course. Actually that's exactly how it usually works - you book only the first consultation session in the beginning to see how it feels for you. There's no obligation to continue unless you feel it’s the right fit.

You may be surprised, but that’s very common — and it’s totally OK. Part of my role is helping you find the words and meaning behind your emotions. We’ll work together gently, and I’ll always be there to guide you step by step.

Yes, I work with individuals, couples, and families online. Whether you're navigating conflict, communication issues, or emotional distance, therapy can help create deeper understanding and connection. Sessions are tailored to your specific dynamics. However, everything starts with an individual consultation to understand if it is more effective to work with your partner to achieve better results.

My approach is integrative, combining evidence-based methods like cognitive-behavioral therapy, psychodynamic insights, and mindfulness techniques. I adapt each session to your needs, always prioritizing empathy, safety, and real-life application. Since every person is unique, there is no and there can't be just one approach or a strict set of approaches.

Yes, I offer brief answers to questions to anyone in emotional need. You can read more about it on the ASK ME page in About Me section. I strongly believe that psychological help should be accessible during tough times, even if it’s just a first step toward healing. This can also help you decide whether therapy is right for you.

It’s completely normal and even helpful to feel emotional in therapy — it means we’re touching something important. You’ll never be judged or rushed. I’ll support you through whatever comes up, creating a space where you feel safe to release and reflect.

Yes, even longstanding issues can shift with the right support and approach. Healing isn’t always instant, but it is possible. My role is to help you reconnect with your strength, values, desires and uncover new ways of understanding your experiences.

I primarily work with adults and young adults, including those going through major life transitions. Whether you’re in your 20s or your 60s, therapy can offer tools for clarity, growth, and emotional healing. Feel free to contact me if you’re unsure whether I’m the right fit. Or you can ask a question by filling in Ask a Psychologist form on my website and get a brief professional answer. Then decide if you are OK with further therapy.

Most clients start with weekly consultation sessions to build momentum, but frequency can vary depending on your goals and availability. We’ll tailor the schedule to suit your pace and lifestyle. Flexibility is part of what makes online therapy so accessible.

No problem — 95% of my clients are from abroad. As long as we can find a time zone that works for both of us, we can connect securely from anywhere. My practice is designed to be global and flexible.

Yes, of course! You and only you are always in control of your journey. You can pause, stop, or resume therapy whenever you choose. My goal is to support you while you need it, and respect your autonomy at every stage.

That’s perfectly okay. Many of my clients are new to therapy, and I’ll guide you through it step by step. There’s no pressure to say things “the right way” — you're always welcome to come as you are.

You might notice feeling lighter, clearer, or more empowered in your day-to-day life. Therapy often brings insight, improved relationships, and better emotional regulation. I’ll also check in regularly to ensure we’re moving in the right direction for you.

While regular sessions are the main focus, I can occasionally provide brief check-ins or written reflections if something urgent arises. We’ll discuss what’s appropriate and supportive for your specific situation. Boundaries and consistency are part of building a safe process.

Yes, everything you share is strictly confidential, within the limits of professional ethics and legal standards (e.g., risk of harm). I take your privacy seriously and handle all communication with utmost discretion. You can speak freely and openly.

That’s totally normal, especially in the beginning. Many people feel unsure about opening up at first. I create a relaxed, nonjudgmental environment where we can build trust gradually — there’s no right or wrong way to be in therapy.

Of course! Therapy is your space, and you’re free to bring up whatever feels important at that moment. Some of the most meaningful breakthroughs happen when we follow what’s really present for you emotionally.

If you notify me 2 days in advance, we can usually reschedule without any issue. I understand that life happens. My cancellation policy is fair and flexible — you can ask about all the details during our consultation session.

Be open, honest, and willing to explore even the uncomfortable parts of your experience. Consistency and reflection go a long way. I’ll guide the process, but your engagement plays a key role in your progress.

That’s part of the healing process, and it's absolutely okay to let it happen. Emotions that surface during therapy are often emotions that needed to be acknowledged. You’re in a safe space, and I’ll be right there to help you process gently and with care.
