Psychologists use a variety of methods to understand, diagnose and support individuals in their mental health journeys. These approaches are grounded in decades of research and clinical practice, tailored to meet the unique needs of each individual. In today’s online therapy world, many of these methods are adapted for digital platforms, offering effective and flexible care.
I believe every good self-respecting psychologist, psychotherapist and psychiatrist has his own practical method of working with clients. My method consists in the formation of healthy reactions and life skills in a person with psychological problems using eight simple rules which regulate behavior.
However, you should understand that every psychologist and psychiatrist always uses a variety of different methods in his work with every client. Since you decided to check out this page, let’s explore some of the other psychological methods I use in my everyday practice together with my own method.

One of the most widely practiced and researched methods, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) focuses on identifying and changing negative thought patterns and behaviors. CBT helps clients understand how their thoughts influence their feelings and actions. For instance, a person struggling with anxiety might learn to recognize catastrophic thinking patterns and replace them with more balanced and realistic thoughts.
CBT is particularly effective for conditions such as depression, anxiety disorders, and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). Its structured and goal-oriented nature makes it perfectly suited for online therapy sessions, where progress can be tracked easily.
Psychodynamic therapy is rooted in Freudian theory and focuses on unconscious processes and early life experiences. This method emphasizes the therapeutic relationship and explores how past experiences influence present behavior. While it tends to be less structured than CBT, psychodynamic therapy can lead to profound insights and emotional growth over time.
Using this approach often encourage clients to reflect on patterns in relationships and emotions, helping them uncover hidden motivations and unresolved conflicts.

Humanistic approaches, such as person-centered therapy developed by Carl Rogers, prioritize empathy, unconditional positive regard, and the belief in an individual’s innate potential for growth. Psychologist acts as a non-judgmental guide, helping the client access their own wisdom and inner resources.
This method is especially effective in fostering self-esteem, self-awareness and personal development. In the context of online therapy, humanistic methods promote a warm and accepting environment through video conversations.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is a newer method that encourages individuals to accept unpleasant thoughts and feelings rather than fighting them. Instead of aiming to eliminate negative experiences, ACT helps clients commit to actions aligned with their values.
ACT integrates mindfulness and behavioral strategies. It’s particularly useful for clients dealing with chronic pain, stress or emotional avoidance. I like to use ACT due to its adaptability to remote sessions and emphasis on experiential exercises and self-reflection.

Good news is that today we have a rich toolkit of methods to support mental health and well-being. From the structured techniques of CBT to the deep insights of psychodynamic therapy and the values-based practices of ACT, each method offers unique benefits. As online therapy continues to grow, these approaches are being thoughtfully adapted to digital formats, making professional support more accessible than ever.
Each client’s path to well-being and happiness is unique — and various diverse psychological approaches ensure that support is available for everyone, no matter where they are.

Over the last 3 years my method has proven its effectiveness because it emphasizes practicality, directness and emotional self-regulation. This approach is especially effective for many people because it addresses real-life issues in a simple, relatable way.
The core principle of my method is to live in alignment with your desires and emotions, rather than societal expectations or fear-based habits. I encourage people to say what they think, do what they want, and set clear boundaries. This fosters emotional stability, self-respect, and psychological maturity.
I believe that healthy relationships start with emotional honesty and self-respect. I try to encourage my clients to express their true feelings without manipulation or fear of rejection. By focusing on authenticity and not trying to "fix" or control others, people can build stronger, more stable connections.
Even though my method is liberating, it is not ideal for every psychological condition, especially deep trauma or complex mental illnesses. My method works best for people struggling with boundaries, self-esteem, anxiety, or indecision — about 80% of psychological challenges my clients come across in their lives. Since each client's case is individual, we always work with several methods in our therapy.
My method doesn’t focus on “curing” anxiety directly — instead, I promote a structured lifestyle with boundaries, honesty, and emotional clarity. I believe anxiety often reduces when a person lives according to their own needs and values. Such behavioral shift tremendously helps reduce internal conflict and emotional suppression.
Habits are central to my approach as I strongly believe that mental health is shaped by consistent, healthy behaviors, not just insights. For example, making decisions quickly, speaking up, and avoiding people-pleasing can become trained responses with time. I encourage doing the right thing even when it feels uncomfortable at first.
Various methods are used to study and understand human behavior, thoughts and emotions. Different methods are employed for different purposes, such as exploring specific behaviors, understanding mental processes, or assessing the impact of social or environmental factors. These methods allow me to gather data, analyze patterns and develop a more comprehensive understanding of each client.
Each client is unique so it depends on many factors. Usually by the end of the first consultation session I have an idea of which approach might be the most effective. Sometimes we may start with one or two methods and then adjust based on client feedback and progress.
I offer a supportive and judgment-free environment where you can confront life’s challenges, gain clarity, and move forward with confidence and purpose.
